Mount St. Helens (12-14hrs, $100.00 +tax ($109.50))

   On May 18th 1980 the "Mountain of Fire" blew its top with the force of over 27,000 atomic bombs. The ash cloud drifted around the world and it dumped ash a distance of a thousand miles away, burying cars and leaving people stranded for days. The devastation left was awesome and it resulted in a mile plus wide crater, the largest landslide in recorded history. The trees in the blast zone were left prostrate and all vegetation destroyed and the soil steril. Rivers of mud buried lakes and rivers and made new ones. The recovery 24 years later is amazing and a sight of incredible beauty. This ecotour will set you back to the realities of our smallness and the vast, overwhelming power of nature.

   The tour is about 12-14 hours long and needs to start early in the morning. There will be at least 4 stops on the tour.
